I've completed the self quote on the PriceJapan Website for their review with a request for further discount. So far the self quote comes in at AU$4K DELIVERED by FEDEX. They take PP or TT.
They have come back with an actual quote stating only TT bank transfer is accepted as their PayPal won't be avaialble for a month...  There is a PayPal levy of 3.5% in USD. This pushes the PayPal cost up by approx 8% in total.

Listening to my new Stax SR009 headphones and Stax SRM-007tII amp.
Amazing sound even before burn in. - Exceptional resolution. - I have been warned that Stax has a shallow bass but it's not true. Rich bottom end. Very confortable. This combo obliterates my previous set (Lehmann Audio Linear SE + Beyerdynamic T1).

I think one of the problems with a lot of reviews of headphones at the moment is that they seem to be reviewed by people who like extremes of bass or treble, least I have seen that at various headphone meets I have attended.
My T5P's have the reputation of being bass light but, like the 009's it simply is not so. They portray bass I feel very accurately. I would say the 009's are just about the most balanced headphones out there, followed not far behind by my T5P's or the T1's and with an exceptional amp the HD800's. I went single ended triode for the amplification of my T5P's and the tesla's and tubes are a match made in heaven I feel, likewise I love the 009's with tubes, more than solid state as they just feel more organic to my ears. The only reason I did not go for the 009's is my life at the moment is pretty transient so I needed a portable or transportable set up which is why I went for my present combination. I feel it comes within a hairs breath of the 009 with a great amp.
