Happy new Strad owner
At 4:30pm today my SF Strads dropped. Initially I gave it a go by myself to setup the beasts. Now, I'm all of 130 lbs and the Strads are at least 50 lbs heavier. It was like wresting an alligator! Round one to the Strads. I call a friend over and we manage to set them up in about 30 mins. Today being my first time actually seeing or hearing these speakers, I now understand what all the buzz is about. My wife came down to my listening room and said, "Now that's a beautiful speaker". (Cha-Ching!)
I've had a couple hours to listen. I'm already hearing things I've never heard before in very familiar music. The placement of the images is far more accurate (palpable). I could reach out and touch the cello in Shostokovich's Sonata for Cello and Piano. I really should be looking at the Yankees game, packing for traveling tomorrow or eating, but I keep listening and discovering something new in old music. I'm scheduled to head to my 30th College Homecoming at Northwestern this weekend. I am very tempted to blow it off to stay and listen to more music. I owe this wonderful experience to Ivan, the Master, and all of you. I have done so much research simply by reading your threads. It's like I know and trust your experiences as if they were mine.
