I'm currently using Bryston Amp / Pre Amp
470 is the better choice

It may still be worth trying the E-650. The B&W 802 are 90db sensitive, but the impedance is all over the place so a difficult load - this probably leads to the perception that they are really power hungry.

The E 650 doubles into 4, 2, and even 1 Ohm. Spec into 1 Ohm is I think far above 240W. The load impedance of the 802 is thus not a problem. In fact in terms of doubling the E 650 has better specs than the E470.

Looks like someone on the Accuphase Facebook group is using the E-650 with B&W 802 D3:

I heard E650 playing 803D3.
Seems to have no problem at all driving them very loud.

I recently was able to hear an Accuphase E-560 and it was just great! Now I am fully onboard the Accuphase train. Hopefully I will have some time to hear an E-600 or E-650 soon because the upgrade bug has bit me and I am itching for a shiny new E-650 to pair with my system

I have 200W amp, speakers are 8 ohms, sound is great, fills the room nicely, very clear at low volumes etc...so, what will happen if I use E-650, which is rated @ 30W/ch?
