Default Does anyone use B&W in-ceiling speakers?

I'm thinking of the 7.3 or 7.4.
I like that 7.4 is directional, because my living room has 5 wall speakers mounted in the ceiling. 7.3 is semi directional with the woofers pointing in the wrong direction.

My dealer has the 7.5 in wall version, so that's the best my demo will ever get. I wasn't very impressed with the 7.5 It took an authoritative male voice and made it sound whiny. I'm hoping for a better mid range and upper bass.

8.5 is priced out of budget for this living room project unless they're light years better than 7.3 and 7.4, and the giant box is usually installed when the home is built instead of retrofitting. My home came with Jamo, and they aren't directional.

My use is a normal living room. I watch a lot of news, kids watch cartoons, background music when I'm bored of the news, etc. We occasionally watch movies in the living room, but I have a theater room with great equipment for serious music listening and movie night.

I am interested in this as well. I think 7.4 would be good. I find it a little odd that the 7.2 is directional.... though I believe that the bass drivers pointed in the other direction might be ok given they are lower frequency.

I bought a pair of 7.3 for my home theater surround speakers. If they're great I may pick up 5 more for an in-ceiling 5.1 system in the living room. I have Jamo all throughout my house installed by the previous homeowner. They actually sound decent for what they are, I have very high expectations for B&W.

I didn't know they offered 7.2

I'll let you know how they sound, but I have very little to compare them too. According to the manual, the tweeter is to be aimed toward the main listening position. The L R and Center are to be pointed back to the listener, and the rear L and R are to be pointed inwards to the listener.

My 7.3 are installed as the surround speakers in my home theater (as my test), and I must say so far I love them. I'm going to get 5 more for the main TV room on the main floor.

The sound full and clear, and the timbre resembles my sonus faber olympica 3. Which is by my design, someone in the sonus faber section gave me a tip to find in ceiling speakers that are the most similar to my main speakers and I think it worked fairly well.

I have very little to compare these against. My experience is with Jamo in wall/ceiling speakers. While my Jamo do sound good for in ceiling, my B&W in ceiling speakers sound good without any qualification like "for an in-ceiling". They sound good compared to small towers in a similar price range.

I'd say my Jamo in ceiling sounded much better than the in wall 7.5 I demo'd in store which had me very concerned. The in-wall 7.5 speakers took an authoritative male voice and made it sound weak and whiny. Maybe it's a poor demo installation, maybe the demo room put a crossover set too high for it to sound full. But the low cost titanium tweeter design of Jamo really has my ears fatiguing quickly so it's worth the risk. Now when I go back to my 5.1 setup with 5 Jamo speakers I feel like the sound is compressed, like listening to a low bitrate quality mp3.

If anyone is considering the 7.3 I highly recommend it.
The low frequency only goes down to the mid 50s so you'll still need a subwoofer, but even without a sub it still has great sound quality.

I have the 7.4 for both the ceiling and wall as a part of my home theater. I absolutely love the sound and clarity they provide. They also do a wonderful job of filling the room and immersing you into the action. Also very easy to install.
