I am pleasantly surprised how good they sound right out of the box. The imaging is excellent, with the lights out you would not know you are listening to such a wide speaker. I have also noticed that the bass and mid bass is much deeper and more powerful then the Cremona, which gives music a fuller ambiance. It's not quite as warm sounding, not so detailed as to be etched sounding but rather a slightly different flavor. The tweeter in these speakers is really quite something.

David, you are sure making me drool... So you are not having any of the issues like you did with the Sonus Faber Anniversario speakers? Are you going to send pictures of you new Elipsa's to that dealer that wouldn't sell you the C500? No, an AudioAficionado gentleman wouldn't do a thing like that. Even if he did have it coming! I brought my wife down to see and hear the Elipsa's for the first time today before getting ready for work today . She said I thought your other speakers sounded good and yes these do sound better...... " I played: Patricia Barber-Narids starting 4 min. in with the drums, Renee Olstead[-Summertime and then she said ..." I have no idea why anyone would want anything better than this but I am sure you will come up with a reason" . I am looking forward to her going to the Cape to meet Ivan, then I will look like I am in control By the way listening to Classical- The Carmen Ballet off the Mcintosh- MC501 demo disk is quite a experience. I am going to have to buy more classical music. The music really fills the room. Rock music sounds very good as well. I have to say if these do sound better after break in it will be a added bonus. Sorry for all the ranting but I am a kid with a new toy

Thanks T-3G and Streetspirt . The speakers are still breaking in; they only have maybe 3-4 hours of listening time and the bass seems to be getting even better. I have been playing around with different speaker positions and it is hard to tell which I like the best. This is by far the best upgrade I have made
