totally agree. I lusted after SF speakers for many years but was unwilling to pay the steep prices. When I saw the Venere 3.0s they were irresistable. Had them for a year now and couldnt be happier. Will I "upgrade" someday? Probably. But for now they give me great pleasure almost every day, and thats a good purchase and a great value.

I wouldn't exactly say I'm unwilling to pay the steep prices... Rather I'm unable to. I would love to have a mint pair of Extrema's, but not for $9k used. If I had the means, sure, but I don't, so I won't.

Never heard the Chameleons so not sure how much of an upgrade it is, but I am very happy with my Venere 3.0s. Added a pair of REL T7is for some extra bass and soundstage quality. All driven by a Hegel H160 integrated amp/DAC. Sounds great to me on a wide variety of types of music. Also pretty forgiving on marginal recordings.

I've always wondered how the Extremas would hold up to today's more modern designs. They were state of the art in the early 90's and the speaker that got me into this hobby. I'll always have great memories of the first time I ever heard them. I've seen a couple of pairs on Audiogon through the years....the cheapest I've seen was around $5500 with stands. I would love to compare them to some popular models these days.

Thank you all for the welcome, the chameleon line is the into line to sonus faber, I use to have B&W 600 series but the sonus Fabre has been awe inspiring. Now my current speaker store allows me to upgrade yearly my speakers just pay difference. So now I'm thinking of going venere 3.0 this year and S next year but is it worth upgrading

Only a side by side comparo can answer that question. Your Sf dealer should be able to easily arrange that.
