Keep Yourself Grounded
Hello. Unfortunately it’s that time of the year (in the northern hemisphere) when the air is dry and cold, leading up to electrostatic charge build up that can be harmful to electronics. When the humidity level drops below 35%, the risk of charge build up is quite high. As little as 5 volts can be harmful to the internal electronics when transmitted by touching the device. I just simply ground myself by touching the door knob on the storage closet in my listening room that is right next to my equipment prior to any use. Keep your investment safe and happy listening. Regards

Yep, a 1/4" spark from your finger to your gear is about 15,000 volts!

Controlling humidity not only minimizes the potential for static shock, it makes the music sound better.
