Default Meridian Dropped Sooloos?

A check at Meridian website found no mention of the word SOOLOOS anymore.

Its now Meridian Digital Media Systems

"Meridian Digital Media Systems are based on how we relate to music. They provide a unique way to access essential information about your collection – not only by song, album and performer, but by cover artwork, mood, genre, release date, and more.

The unique, award-winning systems are designed around the idea of "browsing", rather than simply displaying a list of tracks. They deliver a graphically rich, interactive experience – one that's driven by music, rather than by files and formats.

Meridian Digital Media Systems provide a truly immersive view of your content. You can mark your favourite tracks and see your play history; create a playlist and add music to it; determine what tracks should be played next; or start playing a track immediately.

There's no better way to navigate your music collection."

I suppose Meridian is now truly Meridian and Sooloos is now history.

Well, at least I have the TWINSTORE which had the word SOOLOOS boldly printed/silk screened on the cover. I had a piece of history! Yeah!

The 'real market' has never heard of Meridian either. Meridian is strictly high end.

Think high end server and many have heard of Sooloos. No-one connects Meridian with music servers as they have never made one until purchasing Sooloos.

That was my point.

Audio servers, particularly high end ones, are a new category. Few people have heard of any of them. It makes marketing sense to combine all their products under the same corporate name and especially so when the Sooloos name means little or nothing anyway. I have been expecting this since the day they bought Sooloos.

Is the product changing or is it just a name change for branding purposes?

Yes, it's a branding decision. I'll guess "media" long-term means audio and video.
