Christian.......One of the purposes of using a PS Audio Dectet with a Power Plant Premier or their newer P5 or P10 would be to get the benefit of clean power receptacles at a location beyond the reach of where a power conditioner may be located. It's primary design purpose is to provide a certain level of power conditioning to those who may not have the budget for a more expensive AC regenerator.

Thanks, Dan. So you're saying it would be a budget consideration in place of a longer, and presumably more expensive power cable from the power conditioner to the wall? Or just to get the larger power conditioner plugged into an upgraded outlet like that in the Dectet?

I guess I can't help but think that plugging one of these bigger power products into something like the Dectet would compromise its' performance versus directly into the wall.

Christian.......That is the opposite of what I was trying to explain. The Dectet would plug into a power conditioner like the PPP to extend the AC power to equipment located too far away for their own power cords to reach an active power conditioner. In addition to that use, the PS Audio Dectect can be used as a stand alone power conditioning device that would plug directly into a wall outlet and provide power to components plugged into the Detect.

I'm in for one.

Hoping it will live up to the PS Audio rep.

Dan, looking forward to your review.

I own one. It is extremely well built and does live up to PS Audio reputation.

I had a problem with the first unit that I received with randomly shutting down, but PS Audio graciously replaced it with a new one which has worked flawlessly.

I also own a P5 power regenerator which is excellent, both sonically and visually in my 2 channel audio rig as well as my home theater. It is the first power conditioner other than the PPP which has made an improvement to the picture of my plasma TV. I am now going to add a P10 to my HT system.
