Arrived a few days and frankly it is a big disappointment ... We hope that depends on the run-in.
Sorry for my English ...!

Does anyone have experience with this CD and can give me information concerning any sound changes (if any) after break-in?
thanks

Drake

Drake, what are you comparing it to?
I do not profess to having 'golden ears'...by a long shot, but I've had the SA-11S3 for almost four months now and have not noticed a change since taking it out of the box. What I do know is that, in my system, the SA-11S3 sounds much better than the players it replaced, a Marantz SA-15S1 and Cayin CDT-15A. Bass is tighter and cleaner, mids and highs are more detailed. I haven't been able to compare it to other players in it's price range but so far I'm very happy with it.
Sorry, this probably hasn't been much help but I thought that I'd throw in my 2 cents.

After about 50 hours of use has improved slightly, but the sound is still swollen, poor detail, confused sound, not very big scene, great voices not in focus and with the grain, medium-high a little confused and not very refined, poor separation and little air between the instruments ...
My previous player was an entry level Esoteric SA10 that sounded more slender, but in all other parameters was much better.
We hope that the situation will change with the break-in, otherwise I'll have to sell the Marantz ...
Thank you for your opinion!

Drake

P.S. If anyone has had experience with the Marantz Sa11S3 and can provide me more comments, I would be very helpful.

Sorry to hear you're not satisfied, mine are sounding smoothe, open, detailed and transparent with less than 50 hrs. Have you tried any different power cords or interconnects?

Hello, at the moment I have not touched anything in the configuration of my system and I just replaced the reader.
My system consists of:

Preamp: Pass Labs XP20;

Amp Finale: Pass Labs X350.5;

Speakers: Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Concert Grand (to change);

Power cable between the wall and distributor network: Shunyata Phyton Helix Alpha;

Power cable CD player: Shunyata Python Helix VX (for digital sources);

Power cable preamp: Purist Audio Aqueous 20th Anniversary;

Power Cable Amplifier Final: Purist Audio Aqueous 20th Anniversary;

Signal cables: Purist Audio Aqueous 20th Anniversary balanced.

Speaker cables: Purist Audio Aqueous 20th Anniversary.

It 'possible that the cables are not synergistic, but I do not think the pun to make it sound as awkward in the way in which he is doing ....

Hallo Drake,

I use a similar system like you (xp20, x350.5, bryston bda, B&W802di, Purist Audio Aqueous (not anniversary), kimber monocle,.....cd player transporteur cambridge 851 & audiolab8200, a oppo for some bluray....)
Now you had a Esoteric SA10 and replaced with the SA11s3. Sorry but think to have a big / good sound improuvement with the Marantz is a dream. (well for me.

if I replace my cambridge851 & Bryston Bda with a Marantz is only "burn" your $$$$.

You do that from entry level (in money a player from 1500$.??) to a good player with a good and sound quality (= a player from 3500$.??) the difference is BIG.
BUT from the player from 3500$. - yes a "good player" with great player, performance to the top, listen another jump to the real high end level you need pay min. 10'000.-$. before this mountant make not sense.

A good investiment willl be a meitner Ma2, a Esoteric K03, playback design mps3....

Before the Marantz was better wait and buy a great player.
Personaly I will go with a Meitner Ma2.

thx style

Hello every one , im new here i have however been following this great forum...
Ive had the sa11s3 now since february, i have it hooked up to a pm11s2 via oyaide az-910. Powers cords for both units are oyaide tunami gpx. Speakers are not worth me mentioning as they are nothing special and im saving up for the focal utopia.

I have mostly used the sa11s3 in conjunction with a pc. Let me just say, The dac in the sa11s3 is just phenomenal, Everything i run through it sounds spectacular!
