Default McIntosh MPC 1500 Controller

Anyone here who owns McIntosh MPC 1500 controller can answer a few questions?
1. Any Audio improvements with the MPC 1500 ?
2. When the MPC 1500 in standby position, can a connected device receive mains power
And other connected devices not ?
Thanks

Yes - that can be selected using switches that are on the back panel.

FWIW I have the MPC 500 and it works perfectly in my system. I am not sure about audio improvements but I haver everything run through it and only need to turn on the preamp for all other units to activate. I really got it to protect everything from power issues, lightening etc.
