The shelf my 275 sits on looks so bare right now. If I’m lucky, I’ll have it back by Christmas.

I am using the Stillpoints minis under both of my MC275MkVI amps. I honestly did not expect any audio improvement heard by these +60yo ears, but was pleasantly surprised to indeed hear an improvement. I base the improvement due to my cabinet logistics. All equipment is within a closed cabinet that I have added cooling fans to, hence add noise. The minis did keep the background on my amps quiet, blacker and did tighten up the bass. I am satisfied with the performance of the entry point isolation devices.

Thanks Miner I’ll check them out. I’m not looking for or expecting a very noticeable change in sound more like trying to isolate the amps from the sonic vibrations of the subwoofers and speakers that may affect them in a negative way. The subs sit a little closer to the amps than I would like, so I find myself thinking that could affect the tubes somehow. It definitely affects my turntable. I’ll be trying different locations for the subs but options my be limited.

If you want a Mcintosh pre in that price range with the modern look, try a C15. They show up now and then in mint condition, just have patience. Before I acquired my C22 IV, I used a C15 with my MC275VI and it sounded great. Very different than the C22 IV, but still good.

Wait until you can afford a C 2300. It will be worth the wait. The Benchmark is a very clean preamp.

Speaking from experience, wait, and purchase the component that you desire the most. I love the sound of the MC275vi. I would recommend picking up a C22VI or C22V to go with that amplifier. The McIntosh C22 & MC275 are a perfect match, in my opinion.

Agreeing with W9TR and McMan...
not always but sometimes compromises can end up in regret,
The old “should’ve could’ve” personally I’m also considering a C22 or C70, just waiting for time ($$$) to be right.
