Ed, if I'm not mistaken, that is a DAC/pre, but no streamer.

This would be better:
https://belcantodesign.com/home/eone/stream/

It's Bel Canto's Stream network bridge.

Here's a review:

Thanks for pointing that out... I would hard wire to my PC via USB. Use the dedicated laptop for streaming.

A dedicated streamer is less noisy than a computer, and will sound quite bit better.
You must already have a DAC (you play CDs, your player surely has a decent DAC), so why buy another DAC without streamer capability?

Thanks for the continued input Bart, I appreciate it.

I am not concerned with noise from the PC as I'll be streaming digitally, not in the analog domain. Plus it's a dedicated audio PC.

I am really liking the https://belcantodesign.com/home/eone/dac-2-7/ because it gives me a headphone amp, preamp and Dac in one box plus it is small enough to fit in my cabinet.

Open to other suggests so if anyone has any ideas, let me know!

One could always add the bel Canto streamer later, when my pocket fills again.

Ed, if your computer is a dedicated audio PC, then you're quite okay.
After all, a streamer is kind of a computer, optimised for streaming only.
The best streamers have a high quality clock, and sometimes they do upsampling, so that the DAC doesn't have to do this heavy lifting.
USB might be a little noisier than well clocked SPDIF but you'll find out soon, because the money you will save with streaming instead of buying albums will fill your pockets very rapidly.

The McIntosh MB50 does all of those things too.

It is a little too long to fit in my cabinet. I had decided to go with it, if I could get a fair price, when I saw the dimensions and I had to go back to the drawing board.

No one seems taken with this Bel Canto as I now am.

Default Mb50

I have the Bel Canto e.One Stream, works great, simple, no issues at all. I had Tidal, but liked Qobuz better, canceled Tidal.

(I like this one because it accepts USB from a laptop which could serve as a backup if wireless is difficult)
