I would take everything back and tell the owners about the terrible service you received. If you keep anything you bought from them you will be reminded of this fiasco every day of your life until you sell it.

Another choice in the bay area for SF would be Magnolia HiFi. I can't recommend my local store in San Ramon, they just gave me some awful customer service recently and I haven't stepped back in the store. I think Keith, KMC45, has a good salesman at a Magnolia in the South bay area. Maybe you could PM him and he might point you in the right direction....

Freestone.....So sorry this happen to you. I wish things were different and you had your Amati's singing to you.

I've also had similar issues with a dealer.... which happens to carry SF and the deal involved a pair of Auditors....the only thing different from your fiasco...I never got a chance to place the order in.

Well the owner called. Said he just heard about this an hour ago (really? Didn't get the phone message from this morning?).

Been in business 24 years with no issue Blamed it on the system, terribly apologetic, and was proactive in calling me (how, I asked him, is it being proactive if they never would have called be apparently if I hadn't called first after a few days?)

Said he would do everything to make it right. (how, I asked him, could he rewind the clock and make it "right.")

He couldn't - or wouldn't - tell me why the "mess up" occurred - just blamed it on the final step of the system. I kept asking.

I told him I would think about all this. (I wonder if someone didn't point him to this thread, perhaps not).

How do I feel? Not much better as no real explanation. Promise he will deliver them - presumably on the day I pick.

Free delivery and install.

I already purchased from others the other gear so temped to stay the course but maybe those 0/96s will rock almost as well!

I feel bad and want to support local dealers as it is a tough business but there are certain lines. Was this really a screw up or a calculated decision in wanton disregard for me?

Tell him you want the speakers NOW! If he offers to front with them first thing Monday morning he is genuine

Freestone.......I would be inclined to allow the owner the opportunity to make it as right as he can with you. I have had similar situations, and I usually take a non-adversarial position as long as the dealer is making a genuine effort to correct the negative situation. As long as the particular dealer doesn't step on me again in any way I chalk it up to everyone having a bad day. It happens to the best of them. The owner will most certainly get on someone's back about the inept treatment and disrespectful attitude that came form the salesman and/or installer. Get the speakers, have them installed at a new time, and be done with it. That way you have what you really want, and this event will fade to a distant memory.

It's a tough call, but if it were me, he would have lost a customer. None of this makes sense. Move on. Find a place with great customer service.

I would also be fed up by such an event but we are just humans. Let the owner a chance to say sorry and repair what has been done.
