Thanks for the info, Tom. I appreciate it!

I think I remember reading somewhere that in the MC452, by "Quad Balanced" they mean that each channel has a balanced amp, one handling the positive voltage, the other the negative, combined in the autoformer. I'm certainly not an electronic engineer, so I'm not 100% sure this is correct. But I think that's one of the differences between an MC402 and MC452.

Looks like the bank of 4 27,000uF capacitors in the Mc452, has been increased to six in the Mc462.

4 X 27,000uF, and now 6X 27,000uF- (A combined 162,000uf)Which exceeds the Mc2300 156,000uF total)

As it turned out had issues with MC452, took back under warranty and dealer was able to get me an MC462 for a little more and tax. Am very happy with the MC462. Wonderful!

Is there a significant difference between the MC302 vs MC452 granting speakers are fairly efficient ?? Thanks for the inputs!

Default Mc462

Hi soundslikemusic

Cannot comment on difference between MC302 and MC452, but I have noticed a definite difference between the MC452 and the MC462.

What differences exactly are you hearing. I have a 452 and have the option to move up to a 462. Would rather save my pennies for the 611’s unless the difference is major.

There is a noticeable increase in articulation of tones at the mid-range with music being overall depending of course on Recording, more spacious. Still a smooth presentation with orchestral music being more present with individual instruments. I was contemplating the 611’s, but do have a space issue.
