Singer is an amazing car. My local mechanic has been assigned to one.

Well, all I can say is that a Pre Purchase Inspection is a MUST for these cars. Something came up that was a major surprise for both me as well as the seller.

The search continues. Just like audio, it's at least half the fun!

That means there is an even better one out there waiting for you. Good luck!

Speaking of 356s, I may have posted some time ago that I had a, apparently sought-after now, 1959 convertible D when it was 10 years old. I noticed a few years ago in a market update of 356s in Excellence Magazine that it was in a sidebar "by it's lonesome" and worth more than any other vert, coupe or Speedster. I remember that, I believe, even one in the "so-so" column was worth the price of a new Cayman or Corvette! They were ~$53-54k at the time, whenever that was. I'm sure I have that magazine somewhere.

It was this color with this black top. It had this bumper. It didn't have headlight screens. I don't remember the wheel covers and I think I only have one (Polaroid) of it, somewhere, and it's a front view. It didn't have whatever that is behind the front wheel...pretty sure . It never was this shiny.

I had first dibs on one of these during the 2008 downturn at a fire sale price, and turned it down. Just one of my many unfortunate financial decisions.

Your mechanic's hourly charge must be astronomical.

All this 356 talk will force me to dig up a pic or two of my '65 356SC. Was the rarest of the '65s as it was an electric sunroof coupe. It literally dissolved (rust) beneath me. When I sold it the roof was the most valuable part. The buyer cut it off and installed on another '65 coupe, along with the factory name-plates. Think I still have the worn-out set of Mahle pistons & barrels for same in my brother's garage. Wonderful automobile, though I liked the '73 911 better.

Actually not. $95 per hour.
