The weather is a significant factor, as others have pointed out. The atmosphere is more conductive to sound travel when the barometer is high and humidity low. Here in Phoenix, we don't have significant changes in either year round with exception of monsoon season. It happens to also be the only place I've ever lived where I did not also experience this on a regular basis.

Some say the room itself is the most important part of your sound system, but it is arguably what is between your ears that comes first, i.e., your mood, disposition or whatever we wish to call it. Heck, the music itself can affect that at both a conscious and subconscious level.

Not discounting the other variables offered here, and I'm not self-aware enough to analyze what's different between good listening sessions and those that really resonate.

I have found too that the recordings can vary alot.
Some CDs sound awful, shrill or flat.
Even vinyl varies, new records are loud and unpleasant.ex My wife bought Luke Bryant album and it was really loud. I turned down the volume and next I played a new release Hotel California album and it hadess volume had to turn it up. I put on Lule B again and it was blairing.
CDs are the same..
I also find Sacd require a volume increase compared to Redbook CD.

I hate to point this out, but sound travels the same speed regardless of barometric pressure. Sound travels faster in damp air because it is LESS dense than dry air and faster at higher temperatures because it is LESS dense than at cooler temperatures.

Either way, the difference is not so great to make a difference when listening to music.

The weather can make a difference because of how it affects the LISTENER which is the greatest variable in how a system sounds.

When you have that many systems to keep track of Ivan, I can only imagine how difficult it would be to remember how each one sounds form one day to the next.

Default I'm with Rex -- I would first suspect the AC

I dont discount the subjective angle. But in my experience this kind of thing is usually the result of real in-the-world phenomena that is quite common. In fact it probably happens in most peoples homes, all the time.

AC flutuates in level and it fluctuates in the level of noise that is carried on the line. Its tough to completely get around it, even with power conditioners.

I do know that this issue went away completely for me when I improved grounding and installed a subpanel at my system fed by a large step down/iso transformer in turn fed by dedicated 240v line.

Possibly there are differences in the amount of power drawn in your home and neighborhood and the amount of RFI/EMI interference could cause these issues. I believe that you may have better performance at night than in the daytime in general.

Turns out my aurender software update last time had changed the streaming setting for Tidal from Hi Fi to the regular setting. Once I realized it and changed it back the music sounded better.
