Welcome to my house - Focal and Peachtree Audio
I'd like to welcome to my home and to my life a couple of new things that have just been delivered . . .
A pair of Focal Electra 1007b speakers - from a dealer's NOS (new old stock) - Beryllium tweeter, stand mounted speaker. They sound darn nice. I've had them plugged in where the Sonus Faber Guarneri Mementos usually stay, and I'm very happily impressed. I have them sitting on a pair of Focal stands that were originally made for the pair of J.M. Labs/Focal Micro Utopia Be speakers I used to own. And also brand new is . . . . A Peachtree Audio Nova 125 Integrated Amp/DAC - haven't yet unboxed this little jewel but at its price point it is a sure winner (great reviews and I did hear one before buying it. These items will form the basis for a system I'm putting together at a vacation house. I'll use either my existing OPPO BDP-95 or my Lexacon RT-20 for music and movies, and the Peachtree Audio piece will allow me to use a variety of computer based music sources - about which I know absolutely nothing. Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated (except I'd rather not hear comments about what I should have bought - because I already own this stuff) . .

Congratulations Julian!
I heard the Peachtree Nova 125 with B&W CM5's and it sounded fantastic. So good I almost purchased both but literally have no where to put it. Trying to convince a buddy at work that HE NEEDS THIS little set up. Would love to hear your impressions once you get up and running.

Julian...that is some beautiful gear!!!
I listened to a Nova 125 drive some Aerial Acoustic Model 5B's late last year and was impressed with the quality the 125 brought to that pairing. It takes a robust, high quality amp to bring out the best in those speakers. After listening to them hooked up to a generic, standard quality AVR, I was amazed at how the 125 opened up the soundstage, providing clarity and crisp delivery of each and every note. Well played!

I'm listening to the Focal 1007 be speakers as I write this . . . currently installed in my "upstairs" system, and they sound amazingly good. So good, in fact, that I'm a little reluctant to move the Sonus Faber Guarneri Mementos back into place.
The Focals don't sound "better" but they do sound "different" (and I like "different" from time to time) They soundstage beautifully with superb imaging. Very wide stage with excellent height and depth. Tonality is very "true to life" and instruments and voices sound quite real and correct. Highs, lows, and midrange are all there and leave very little to be desired. My JL Audio F112 sub woofer is still connected, and the Focals mate well with it, but when I switch it off, the low bass sound is still quite good from the little Focals. For about ¼th the price of the Sonus Fabers, these Focals are very impressive and I think I'll be very pleased when they reach their final destination - in the Tennessee mountains. And, I can't wait to pair them up with the Peachtree Nova 125 integrated.

So... Peachtree does not get much play in this forum, and their products never seem to be featured in the prime spots in showrooms.
Help set me straight, Julian and others.
