Ha! First world problem huh? My friend Charles came back over yesterday to test a new piece of calibration equipment for JVC projectors......after a couple of hours he couldn't figure something out and was pretty ticked off. We sat there for a moment and were like......well, considering all that is going on in the world right now, sitting here in the fancy home cinema with a 4K HDR projector.......kind of felt a little guilty!

What tubes do you need? My friend with the Pacific tells me the Chinese tubes are second rate quality, don't sound as good and are overpriced. He mentioned Kron and EML, and to also talk to Andy at Vintage Tube Labs. Specifically, he mentioned KRon 5u4g and EML 5u4g rectifier tubes he has being among the best.

If you want to connect with my buddy, let me know. He has a long history owning and testing Lampi gear and is happy to help.

Default LampiZator Pacific and SuperKomputer - Background and Initial Impressions

Thanks. I’m just looking for (back up) replacement tubes now. The replacements (recommended and originally installed by Lukasz himself) are shuguang 300B 98B mesh plates. Going to wait until I get in the room to move to the Kron’s and EMLs, which are highly recommended. With five different heater settings for various tubes, the possibilities are endless.

Main Rig: (waiting on room to be built)

Amplification > Accuphase A200 (2) / C3800 / C37 (long term)
Sources
> LampiZator Pacific DAC
> DirectStream Memory Player
> LampiZator SuperKomputer (via Roon/NAS)
> Magnum-Dynalab > MD-108T SE / MD-205
> ClearAudio / Innovation / Universal > Lyra / Kleos (except no turntable during renovation)
Speakers/Cables > TAD R-1 MKII > Verastarr Grand Illusion Statement Copper (1), Gold (1) // REL 212 SEs (2x)
Power > Accuphase PS 1230 (2) / 3 dedicated lines with PowerPorts
Foundation > Rix Rax > Hoodoo / Amp Stands > Stillpoints under as much as my bank account can then accommodate
IC/PC > Power // Verastarr Grand Illusion Statement HC, Grand Illusion Statement > ICs // Verastarr Grand Illusion Signature XLR > Digital // Verastarr Nemesis USB
Other > Audio Desk Systeme Vinyl Cleaner Pro

Rental (while the room is being built): Accuphase E650 replaces the C3800 and A200s. All of the other stuff above that's usable, except the turntable stuff. Using TAD CR-1s, rather than the R-1s.

Portables and Cans:

Cans > Sennheiser 800
IEMs > Westone W50, Bose QC20
Amplification > Auralic Taurus
Sources > Auralic Altair, Onkyo DP-X1
IC/SC/PC > Sennheiser Balanced / AQ Yukon XLRs / Shunyata Venom 3 (2) / Black Dragon Balanced

Kitchen:

Ok, sounds good, let me know if you want to connect. Interesting fyi, Lukasz also sent out the KRon 5u4g to my buddy when he moved up to the Pacific with a hearty recommendation. As an aside, one of the problems he faced with the Chinese PSVane 101 (d?) replicas is they did not sound anywhere as good as the KRon and the EML and the replicas burned out after a couple months even with their high cost.

FWIW...passing on advice when I relayed the situation you mentioned with supply and requested his advice.

Jim, it's great to hear of your experience with the new gear. You have the speakers and amplification to get the most out of it, that's for sure. Congrats on your discovery! It's discoveries like yours that hopefully will result in others taking the chance and buy this gear.
