Overreacting a bit?

Suppose Ivan took down the site in a snit after all of the wonderful things you had to say to him today?

I like to read your opinions. I do not like to read you talking down to people. And who said you weren't wanted around here? Your ego (or something) has read a lot more into this than what was there. Just my opinion mind you.

Whatever you decide, stay well.

I posted these in another thread awhile back when misunderstandings crept into the posts. I think it was Vintage Pete who referred to them as the Ten Commandmants +1.

Now just to be clear so that everyone knows where I am coming from when I post.
1) I do not own the best set-up in the world.
2) Neither do you.
3) There is no best speaker (or company) or best amplifier (or company) etc.
4) If there actually is a best product out there, someone will improve upon it by next week.
5) The "huge" improvement we attribute to every change in gear, when all added up, exceeds the sound that comes out in the end.
6) I do not say that digital is better than vinyl. I believe that vinyl is not inherently better than digital as some profess.
7) Because you or I prefer the sound of Product A that does not make it better than Product B.
8) Most people should try different music, because it seems they/we buy what makes their system sound good.
9) I believe in "Break-In Time". I also believe that we get used to the sound of our own systems and our mind masks any faults/nuances after a period of time. That is why we are encouraged to "Keep it for 30 days", or "it takes 300 hours to break-in".
10) At the price points we are talking here, there is no bad gear our there. It is all a matter individual preferences and what you are seeking to hear and look at.
11) Listening to someone else's system can be eye opening because: a) it sounds so different from your own that your initial impression is WOW b) it sounds so different from your own that you have to force a smile. c) when you go home and listen to your own system you will go WOW, and forget whether you heard A or B above.

Still applicable today.

Serge I went away for a few hours and come back to read that your leaving AA nonsense we won't let you do that Having spent time with you in person I can say that I have found you to be a great guy and we have had some good times. We all took the bait by debating a question which is very personal ie do you like blonds or brunette ? Sometime a idea when put in writing can be taken as harsh because one can not interpret sarcasm ie. lack of inflection in ones voice when speaking . This thread has brought out passion from all with a opinion. As I said a few posts back this is like 2 sports car enthusiast discussing why they prefer one brand over the other. I do not have a problem with opionions but we should respect each other and not be condescending. On more than one occasion you have sounded like the "oracale" . By the way its ok to go back and edit a post after you read what you wrote. I have edited my posts on numerous occasions. We are all friends here and I can say that it would be a shame if you pulled a Greg and left the forum. Sometime friends disagree, you don't have to throw the baby out with the bath water, so please have a glass of wine and forget the idea of leaving the forum We need our black sheep here to keep things interesting.... remember it's ok to go back and edit a post if you say something in anger
