Default What cloud based file storage do you use?

I have had the misfortune of being a target of identity theft this year. I caught it early and after a few hours of time, most everything is tidied up. I have some paperwork from this I have copied to an encrypted USB, I have it on my computer and I was thinking of a cloud based solution to store this information, among other things.
I need to catalogue our valuables at home with pictures and store them somewhere. I would also like to archive my personal pictures of the kids. I have some of the non-sensitive stuff on a mirrored external HD that I keep at the office. But, I am thinking that a service such as Spider Oak or Tresorit may be a better option. I would value some input on the strengths of some of the available options. Encryption is a must. I am in the Apple ecosystem (or cult, depending on one's perspective).

I use SmugMug for photos (works great) and code42/crash plan for general backup/archive (also works great). Multiple solutions out there for this purpose including box, skydrive, Dropbox, etc. I do both cloud back up and mirrored drives. Crash plan easily automates back up to online and offline destinations.

Is this the personal version or an enterprise solution? The interface is acceptable? It seems there is a Zero Knowledge option

It would appear this option does not allow for offsite storage which would be a deal breaker for me.

Lima Ultra is a great option for 129$.
The setup takes about 5 minutes, you just have to plug it to your router and to an external HD.
The good thing is that your files are end-to-end encrypted and stored safely at home.

Once it's set up, it's pretty much like Dropbox or other cloud services: you can access your files from anywhere across all your devices.

I'm really happy about mine and strongly recommend it.

I have a colleague whose house burnt to the ground this past week. Had a previous patient assualt his wife with a pistol, and when she thankfully escaped, burnt the house to the foundation. Total loss. Makes me think I need something offsite and hence the need for something that is cloud based. Am I incorrect in thinking that Lima is not offsite, cloud based? Maybe I need to dig a little deeper.
Thanks.

SmugMug is only for photo and video (and it's more for pros than for me). That said, I have about 20,000 digitized photos that I like to share etc. They do not do advertising (which is why you pay) and don't limit file size.

Code42/crash plan is similar - no advertising, so you pay. They offer enterprise solutions ,but their personal solution works great. I have it on all laptops etc in the family and they automatically back up (so I don't have to chase family members, etc). I back all devices up to the NAS and the cloud and to a hard drive that I keep at work.

Check out goodsync or other synching software. You can back up/ sync files to the cloud or a hard drive or anything. In my multi layered regimen, I also use goodsynch for certain things and it works great too.

I don't know Lima and it might be great. If it only backs up to local storage, I would have to supplement that with offsite somehow. Of course, you could back up to a NAS and a USB drive and just take the USB drive to another location.

Lots and lots of cost effective options out there.

Wow Tim that's a frightening story...

About Lima, they say you can plug a second device as a backup in someone else's home.
This way, both Lima back each other up continuously and you're safe in case one of the houses burns. While your hard drive is at someone else's home, you remain the only one able to access it.

I've not tried this feature but I read it was really seamless. They offer a great discount if you buy 2 Lima devices so it might be worth it. The real plus compared to cloud storage providers such as Dropbox is that you don't have to pay monthly fees.

I've been using Sugarsync for a few years without problems. It works well on my Macs and has in iOS app. It's subscription-based.
