Default My Wireworld Experience

Hello All
Like many of you here, I have jumped on the Wireworld bandwagon. With Ivan’s latest WW sell off, I managed to fulfill a small item on my audio bucket list: full Wireworld cabling from the wall to the speaker. It’s a small feat for many, but I felt I needed to do this to get the best performance from my system.

The Wireworld journey started with Gold Eclipse 7 XLRs from source to preamp and amp. I had a pair of 19 year old MIT BiWire cables with a small plastic box at the biwire point (about $300 back then). I felt the speaker cables were holding me back. When Ivan had the sale, I bought Gold Eclipse 7 speaker cables, Silver Electra 7 power cords throughout and a Silver Starlight USB.

The shipment was split, getting the speakers cables first. The cables were hefty and beautiful in person. They are well made for sure. I put the speaker cables in the system. Instantly, I could tell that something wonderful was happening. I noticed a crisper, cleaner more detailed sound. My 15 year old audiophile rookie son immediately noticed the extra detail in the music. I also noticed that my ARC Ref75SE power meters did not measure as high as they normally do on familiar recordings at the same volume level. I thought that was weird. Maybe my old speaker cables introduced more resistance, causing the amp to have to work harder? I have no idea, it just appears that the amp is not working as hard with these speaker cables…(I still plan on trying out a GS150 this month…)

A couple of days later, the remainder of the cables were hooked up, power and USB. As Ivan mentioned, there is a nice synergy with this full WW loom throughout. I have only 25 hours on the new cables, and I am very excited as they burn in. These cables have fine-tuned a great system and now, and can get back to listening to music. Thanks to Ivan, and all the great people here on AA who share knowledge, opinions and advice. Pete

Pete... I appreciate your review, and patronage. Keep them playing, they only get better with time.

Oh, and your September winning CD is on the way!

A few years ago Ivan let me try some WW 6 power cords and silver balanced inter connects and I noticed much more upper mids, highs (treble) and less vail i.e. more detail. It was such a striking difference to what I was accustomed to hearing that I was not sure if I like the changes I was hearing and put my prior copper WW cables back on and sent the cables back to Ivan. I should have kept them. I currently have mid level WW copper cables for balanced interconnects and speaker cables with stock power cords. As a prior cable skeptic, I am a believer. There is a difference ✌
