Default House of Cards

I have been ignoring Netflix for a long while (my wife binge watches ) and have not watched any of the popular shows that have migrated there...ever.

This is probably because I am too engaged with listening to music. However, don't get me wrong as I do enjoy television. My viewing is limited, though, to the History Channel, Discovery Network, BBC America, etc...shows of that genre`.

While I was adding the new-to-me MX135 to the system over the weekend I was testing each input. One of my URC MX880 integrated remote macro functions is Watch > Netflix so the Mrs. doesn't have to fiddle around in menu trees and such.

I did just that to test the function (all is well, it came up fine) and selected "House of Cards" to check the sound. I watched Season 1, Episode 1...and now I am hooked.

You never know where this hobby will take you and I can't wait to get back to the series for the next episode.

How many other "House of Cards" watchers are there here on AA?

Both my wife and I enjoy "House of Cards". A lot of surprises on a regular basis. Looking forward to Season 4.

Richard
It is only good if you enjoy murder, sex, backstabbing, dealmaking, people wielding power, good dialog and surprises. If you want car chases, explosions, etc. Fer-get-about-it.

I would only re-arrange your list to put power wielding at the top. It's all about dirty politics, and very well written and acted.

My wife and I watched all the "American" House of Cards episodes and then . . . we found the British series of the same name . . . . and . . . we've watched all of those too.

The British series (which was the original series, by the way) may be even better. The American series is a loose copy of the British BBC series with similar plot lines. The "villain" in the British series becomes The Prime Minister.

And then there's Broadchurch and Revenge We're hooked on those also.

Good stuff, Julian. Where, may I ask, did you find the British original of House of Cards?

The British series comes in three parts, each with 3 or 4 episodes

The first series, titled "House of Cards" (Brit) is available free on NetFlix
While the second and third (as well as the first) are available on Amazon Instant Video (at very modest cost - $6.99 for each complete season)

To further confuse, the second and third series are not titled "House of Cards"

The Second season is called "To Play the King" and the third is titled "The Final Cut"
