I have to imagine the majority of XM users are using it in their vehicles. It seems to be big with truckers. I would get it in my car, but the XM option disappeared and after the dealer tried everything they could, the only option was to replace the entire head unit. Not worth it.

Maks - the engineer's name I gave you is on LinkedIn so you can contact him via that platform.

We use Sirius XM mostly on our two day trips between Wisconsin and Colorado.

I've tried streaming using my iPhone and it is a bit iffy in spots.

Old thread but I just finished a 6000mi road-trip and my biggest bitch is their repetitious programming. Doesn't matter if it 'classic vinyl' (the worst) or 'jazz' or 'blues' or 'bluegrass', they are all as bad as FM in playing only the same 100, or so, tunes. And, to top it off, 'bluegrass' is about half religious crap. As I'm only paying $6/mon, I'll likely keep it just for NPR and such with a few hours of music before it starts repeating.

What is surprising to me is that in the past 5 years the stock has gone up. I would have bet on the opposite trend.

Howard Stern probably keeps it afloat all by himself

Just cancelled our XM subscription due to poor audio quality and repetitious programming.

On the AQ front, I would keep turning it down until it was essentially off. The codecs they use sound terrible. Guess I’ll load up USB sticks for our long trips or stream through the phone.

The sub that came with my wife's new car included a year of "free" streaming. The SQ of the stream is w-a-y better than the signal that comes off the birds, and sounds a whole lot less processed. It's a night and day difference.

I cancelled my xm subscription many years ago and I don't bother with it even when they send me those free 3 month renewals. It makes more sense to me to give the thumbs down to a song and never be bothered by it again rather than changing the xm station over and over.
