Well, i cant make a comment re replacing what is, by any account, an excellent set of amps but, i have an MA12 with PMC Fact 12 Signatures and it is a superb amplifier in every respect. It replaced the already very good MA9000 but this has just got that bit of magic the MA9000 approached but never quite managed. I did mull the 462 and the 611 monos but, for our v small space etc. this was perfect. Source is an MB50 for digital and for phono duties I have an MP1100.

Thank you for sharing your experience with MA12000. PMC Fact 12 - love those speakers. I had them for a while. So, tell us more about MP1100. Any idea how it compares with AR Ref. 3 Phono? Also how is the DAc module?

Old thread…MA12000 owners, how are you enjoying your Hybrid Ints? If you had to do it all over again, would you still choose the MA12000 or spring for other brands. Loaded question but curious about owner experiences after a few years on the market.

I’ve heard the MA12000 a number of times paired with Sonus faber Serafino/Amati. This weekend, my local dealer demoed the Mac with the Von Schweikert Endeavor SE (in gloss red)…let’s just say it was magical! Coincidently, he had just received a new shipment.

Count me in the club…I’ll be staring at this box for a couple weeks until setup help comes.

I have a question about the Home Theater Passthrough on the Ma12000. When the 12v line is triggered, that's when the Passthrough is activated (as far as I understand). If the MA12000 is off, do the tubes fire up with the trigger is activated? What I am asking is if the amp can be used without the tubes being turned on?

Good question. Unfortunately, I no longer have a home theater setup after adding the MA12000. With the 12v triggered, I’d imagine the MA12000 would be turned on thus warming up the tubes.

Perhaps other owners can chime in. If not, MAC customer service should be able to provide feedback.

I have a C2700. If I understand the question correctly the amp turns ON when activated by passthru. Mine is configured to use passthru when watching cable and movies. When the AVR is turned on a 12v signal turns on the C2700 and sets it to "PASSTHRU". Although, I have not specifically observed the tubes I believe they do energize when in passthru. That said, tonight I will definitely check it out.
