What a great summary Victor.

One thing I would add is that the Control 10 does not have the Meridian apodising filter so if you are picking up a used / demo one be aware of this, however significant it may or may not be.

Victor,
Thank you very much for helping me out here, things are very clear for me now.
I am really amazed how the people at Meridian can provide misleading information, first they confirmed in writing that my proposed system will work (MS600+Twinstore+ipad) then when I pointed out the facts I got from you guys, they said yes it is a mistake then proposed I add the source one as a core !!!

I find sales reps often don't fully understand the products they are selling, quite unfortunate really.

My recommendation for you would be to get the MS600 and Twinstore at the deep discounted price you listed in your other thread. Also get a Control 15 and see if you can get a similar discount on this as well, this would be a reasonable request considering all they have put you through on this.

A Control 15, MS600 and Twinstore would give you what I consider to be the best music server available today.

I hate to say it, but I'm liking the sound of the Control 10 better than the 15, but I have to play with settings more....

Right when the Control 15 came out I compared one to my Control 10. I did not hear any difference. I figured this was due to the DAC I'm using (McIntosh MDA1000). The results may be different in an all Meridian system.

No fancy caps inside. It's pretty much going to sound how it will sound after a few hours. Still playing with the upsampling, etc.

The great news is the control 15 will play my 24/88.2 files, which the Control 10 will not, however, when playing back 16/44 files (which make up for about 7300 of the 7352 albums on my Sooloos), the Meridian upsampling does not play well with the dCS. Sounds bright, where it did not before. When turned off, it's pretty close.

Twinstore Update: My dealer says the twinstore is not being replaced at this time. One will have to buy the MC600 which will be around 7,500 pounds which is a LOT of money.

Looks like it is time to stock up on twinstores!
