Chiron breaks the 300mph barrier

Neither a dragster or the SSC have a petrol engine and none can be used to go to the supermarket afterward.

The Chiron used is very close to the road car. it's a different thing to do it in such a car than in a purpose-built car.

for the record a top fuel car(TFD or Funny Car) does in fact start on petrol (gasoline)

It only took the SSC twenty miles to do a u turn. That ain't bad.

How much brake horsepower does the Chiron have? I'm guessing somewhere in the range of 1400?

As an old, ex-roadracer, I gotta say its not about top line speed...its all about lap times.

Very close: 1500hp @ 6700 rpm and 1180 pound-feet between 2000 and 6000 rpm.
