It isn't the digital output I am concerned about. The only need for the airport express is to access the network for meta-data and to access Rhapsody to play those files which are not hi-rez anyhow.

For others' benefit, I am not using the digital output of the Airport Express. I have my MS200 connected to the ethernet port on the Airport Express so that the MS200 is accessing everything directly from the network just as if it were connected via ethernet cable to my main router. In Jim's case, as he points out, all of his music files will be on his MC-200, but in my case, they are on a Twinstore upstairs that is hard wired to my network. I am able to access music files on my Twinstore flawlessly as well as Rhapsody streaming and access to meta-data.

Just out of curiosity. What is the control unit in your system, the C15 or the MC 200? I understand that the files appear seamlessly integrated no matter if they are stored on the C15, the Mc200 or the twinstore.

I should be good for awhile with just the 1TB of space.

I am using my C15 as the control unit and have all of the music files on the Twinstore.

Since you keep your music on the Twinstore you would have saved yourself a few bucks if Meridian had offered the Media Source 200 at the time you purchased the Media Core 200.

I thought about that as soon as the MS200 came out. I could have saved even more had I been able to get an MS200 instead of an MS600 for my upstairs system.

At least I can use the MC200 in a standalone system if I ever want to set something up in another location.

Congrats Jim on your MC200!

Really try to keep everything Sooloos hardwired when you can. I connect everything Sooloos to their own little 8 port Gbit switch and from that a TP cable to my main house wireless router.

Wireless can be unpredictable sometimes when you least expect it apart from slower speed and latency resulting from antenna range issues and neighbouring wireless nets. I also reserve each device IP adress in the router. It's easy once you've done it once and it saves possible headaches further on.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Meridian has a certain understated elegance to it. Congrats on the acquisition.
