Sorry writing this on my iPhone at the gym. FWIW, I have banged the 3Tb drives pretty hard and they're still ticking. I have successfully booted from each drive individually. Given that you need more than 3Tb of storage, your solutions are limited. Given M doesn't officially support the 3Tb drives yet, I'm not even sure they'd even give a go to convert to RAID0.

On a side bar, Jerry (JSSC) had issues previously with drives that were the 'Green' version. I'm not thoroughly convinced that the power-save aspect was ultimately the culprit given the number if other variables that exist (network connectivity, RAID Card stability etc).

I didn't answer your question though, nothing further in the RAID0 solution.

I appreciate the in depth thoughts. You know, maybe what I could just do for now is get one MD600 and move over the content on 2 of the Store units to that device using 3TB drives left in RADI 1. That way, I get the benefit of the new unit for part of my collection alongside 2 redundant Store Ones that have not given me any trouble. If I manage the free space properly, I can force any new rips to go to the MD600 and when 4TB drives become stable, I could swap out for those under RAID 1 and discontinue the remaining Stores. Separately, I could switch over to RAID 0 if and when the tech issue is addressed. I realize that any of these moves would require a backup and subsequent restore, but that's ok.

Someone on another forum comfirmed 3tb drives working in his Twinstore with nothing needed other than swapping drives. The drive that worked is:
3TB Seagates ST33000651AS Barracuda XT 7200RPM SATA
Here is the Amazon link: Amazon.com: Seagate Barracuda XT 3 TB 7200RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch Internal Bare Drive ST33000651AS: Electronics
The Amazon description says it has Seagate DiscWizard software to break the 2tb limit on legacy Windows XP products. I think I might try these once drive prices come back down.

Just in case, make sure and keep a full backup on an external drive.
Hi Victor,

Confirmed this was the case. Drove me mad at that time as I was so worried I could never recover the contents! The dealer told me this after a week of "scratching his head" on WHY this had happened. In fact, he made me spent $1k changing all my network connections arguing its NOT the drives, or the Twinstore's fault BUT network's. I was so furious about this unnecessary spending that I though the dealer was a farce at that time, not really knowing the actual problem enough to fix it.

Cheers!
