I'm sorry to say guys that for me "looks" influenced not even considering Wilson speakers.
I'm sure they have a great personality though. On the other hand every time I walk by my S1Mk2's I can't help but run my hands over their firm sleek body. I also married a blond, 8 years my junior LoL. |

I had to stop reading when you physically caressed the speaker. Are they connected to something or do you just fondle them? |

What kind of amplification is required for the Alexia? Given it is 90dB efficient, is the Ref75se cut the mustard or will a GS150 be required?

Audiohippo....Potentially problematic for the average tube amp is the minimum impedance, which drops to 1.96 ohms. The Alexia's will play loud with just a few watts but need a lot of current as a result of the impedance drop. I would say GS150 as a minimum if you are looking at a tube amp.

I heard a comparison with Ref75se and GS 150 with Alexias. I was very impressed with the Ref75se and thought it provided all that was needed for Alexias. Nothing was missing. But then I heard the GS 150 which was on a different level in all respects, especially the lower registers. The dealer told me that the Ref 250se monos were yet another leap in performance with Alexias. I don't doubt it. But for now--the blinders are on and its Ref 150 with KT 150s and Sashas. Maybe someday--Alexias and Ref 250se monos or, by the time I get to it ,Alexia 2s with Ref or GS 300s

The ARC GS150 or Ref250SE or D'Agostino S-250 or M-400 are fantastic amps for the Alexias.
