Currently, I have B&W PM1 speakers, but I’m hoping to upgrade them to B&W 802 D3 or 803 D3 in the future.

Thanks!

The more power the better with B&Ws, IMHO. You could not go wrong with the MC2152, MC312 or MC462.

You might look over in the B&W thread and see what owners of those speakers are using. https://www.audioaficionado.org/show...678#post985678

Agreed 100% on B&Ws would benefit from more power from amps. I pair 802D3 with MC611, and like to combo very much.

+2

Quite a while ago, when I was flirting with the idea of buying the then new-ish MC-501's, I coupled a pair to a then-new set of B&W Diamonds, the ones with 3 leg risers and a square base. Those suckers are hungry, hungry, hungry! A pair of 501's were not even close to enough power, especially when impedance levels drop to around 3 ohms. The then-available 1.2Kw amps were better, but it still sounded like the speakers needed more grunt and were running out of power.

While I found them excellent for movies and classical music, for rock, pop, etc, I felt they needed more low end grunt, even with the 1.2Kw amps. Either way, I wouldn't dream of owning a pair unless my amps were capable of 1 kW at 2 ohms, those suckers drink the watts, Mcintosh watts or otherwise.

Today I ordered MC2152 and C70 70th anniversary combo. It's going to be my first McIntosh products. I'm so excited and I can't wait to see it. I was debating between 70th anniversary combo and 2 of MC275 with C2700. I hope I made the right decision...
