Default My own nirvana

MyPal asked me for a few pics when i added my rack so in case anyone else is interested in my humble setup , here she is;

Its in a dedicated room (converted bedroom) as it would not fit in the living area which is a shame but hey you got to work with what you got right?

It consists of a MF A308CR front end, NAD M51 DAC, Macbook Air, Solid Tech rack, Kimber Bi-Focal XL's and the speakers are PMC MB2S-P's. I am currently running the Air into the M51 via USB.

The rooms acoustics were pretty bad when i first started until i added the panels and bass traps , and once added they did wonders along with a rug.

The real challenge since i caught the bug was finding a speaker that could play any type of music I liked, at volume, hence why I now run monitors and the MB2's deliver what i wanted in spades.

Stephen....Congrats! The Solid Tech Rack of Silence is an awesome & versatile rack system. I can appreciate why you decided to patiently wait for it.

The panels & traps are typical of a pro studio & look great. It's amazing what a little room treatment will deliver.

thanks guys, the side walls and back wall are also heavily treated but I have not included pics of those areas as they don't matter as long as they work. It was hard work getting the room to sound right because its all tile, glass and concrete with a mirrored built in thrown in just for giggles.

at the back of the room is a futon covered in cushions and a bean bag, which is my listening area

Very nice system and very neat

I'd love to see the rest of the room and the treatment you've done.

Gorgeous. One question though, why no stands for the MB2s? They would sound better off the floor I suspect.

If you are in the USA I can hook you up with a guy that will custom weld pre-filled stands to any size and then powder coat them, all for $200, ridiculously cheap...
