Default My New room

ITS ALIVE, ITS ALIVE and we have bass! Holy cow does this room, with things in this position, go deep and boom!

Lots of work to do here. It’s going to be a blast.

I never heard the Strads boom like this as they did not excite my old room like they do this one. I suspect it is a combination of factors: Dimensions, construction (new room is all wood framed - Old room was concrete on 4 of the 6 sides and position) and current placement.

No treatments in the room yet but not sure how to tackle that deeeeeep resonance besides speaker and LP placement. (Thank god for the tone controls of the C2300!!! It would be unlistenable without them. Bass is at -6dB).

Perhaps placement of the F113 will help? I don’t have a crossover anymore since I sold my MEN220. Might regret that decision.

But good news — the K-03X, G-02, C2300 MC2301s and P10 made it here and all work... Going to be a few weeks before I have internet capable of meeting my needs so the SilenZio and the NAS continue to rest.

Anyway, I am off and very excited to have tunes again.

Awesome room (its bigger than my house!).

Looking at your rig, it would be almost impossible for me to leave this room, I would need to be dragged away, kicking & screaming!

The first thing I would add to improve the sound would be a dedicated wine fridge

Craig, I am betting that moving the speakers out from the wall may tame the bass. Looks like this will end up sounding awesome! :thumbs up:

Ha!

I did lose my cellar from the or viola house and am already looking at a 200 bottle refrigerator for the storage area just down the hall!!!

Great minds think alike!

For sure Randy but then I run into issues as I am using the long wall. Not much flexibility for pulling them out or moving the LP across 15’11” width of the room.

This is going to take some time and I am going to enjoy the journey.
