So...., hopefully soon. We will probably make a trip in June, just to do some more prep stuff. Can't wait, honestly. While my life in NY has been good, I'm ready for the next step. And, i have been pondering what to do about the system, it may get stored temporarily, particularly if we rent when we first get there. Also, looking at downsizing, maybe even a townhouse -although that would be a big change. I like the privacy of a single family house, but am not interested in the upkeep, and would like to come and go without worry. I actually posted a thread on Audiogon recently about what I might do to scale the overall size of the system down without compromising sound quality. I was persuaded to keep the vinyl or the best of it- I'm not ready to make the leap to a digital system as my serious system yet. (Yes, i know I could spend 80 grand on dcs, but that's not where I want to put money right now). I'd rather buy the Bohn House. (not that i'm going to- you know it?)
Good luck in your endeavors! We look forward to having you down here in Austin. The Bohn house is a local landmark, cool art deco style and rich in history. It will require renovations if you're up to that, but once done will be a special home.

Yep, I've read about the house, and marveled at some of its design features. We've had a few significant houses, and are trying to downscale. There is a lot of great residential architecture in Austin, love some of the Mid Century stuff. I'll let you know when I am there and thanks to you, Street, and everybody else for the warm welcome here.
I'm gonna be hanging out here when I can. It seems like a very good place.
Best,
bill hart
