Default best way to install spikes on 800D?

I need to get these speakers of of the casters to tighten up that last little bit of midbass. They are in a spot where the best possible way would be to lean them forward but I can not think of a way to do it without having to lay them on the drivers. Of coarse that is not an option. I was thinking using the packing material due to it is formed for the head and top portion of the speaker but if it is not strapped it can release once on the carpet and that would be bad. It would probably be easier to stick some rollerblocks under there but I have always had good luck improving the sound with spikes so I want to try them, plus I like the ability to level the speaker. The speakers are close to 300lbs so once they are spiked they have to be stood up and are not going to be able to be moved. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

wpines suggestion is good. Would be very interested in hearing about the results. With that much mass, would spikes make as much difference as they would with lighter speakers? My 803s are just light enough to pick up & move if you're careful.

I have read people say that they use pillows but I always assume that they are laying them on there side. I have a wall almost 4' on one side of them and mono's and a center on there other, sideways wont fly. Are you are saying use pillows under the drivers? I would have to see that done before taking that gamble. I cant imagine not damaging the dust cap doing it that way. Wonder if it would be possible to tilt them forward and get them up on some kind of blocks to get under them and spike them... dangerous though.

Lou,
You're right about the wiggle room; any way you look at it, you'll need a couple buddies IMO.

We need to invent a speaker jack for just such an occasion.

Wonder if I could just move the amps and tilt it enough to one side to get two spikes screwed in as far as they go then tilt it the other way and do the same. Could turn out to be an expensive experiment. Plus those amps aren't all that mobile either when you cant get any leverage from space constraints.

If you want to experiment off the casters-
Agora Acoustics Magic Hexa
Agora Acoustics Magic Hexa (set 4 pcs)

Symposium Rollerblock Junior HDSE
Symposium Acoustics:

Sound Anchor
B&W 801 D SPEAKER STANDS

Nice system you have there.....go with Sound Anchor bases built for your speakers. Legend Audio & Video is a Sound Anchor dealer and Symposium dealer. PM "MasterLu"

Lou.......What about buying a small roller jack at WalMart. Rock the speakers back, ease the jack under it, tilt the speaker back up, and jack it up to clear the floor with someone holding it steady while you swap the casters for spikes. I think that might just work. Don't forget to mark you speaker locations on the floor with some blue masking tape, or something like it.
