Default Country music, no way, yes way.

No doubt about it, I'm turning country! 10 years ago I'd have said NO WAY IN HECK. Must be the same condition that has me listing to the Grateful Dead and Johnny Cash, both of which I completely ignored in my youth.

Sometimes I'm amazed how there can be so much sweet music in the world!

Just discovered and ordered on Amazon.. ( I know, how could anyone not have heard of this classic recording. I'd be one. )

I listen to a very wide range of music, but I can't do country or classical. I just don't feel it.

I'm not a huge fan, but I enjoy:

No country or rap here...

Closest thing I get to country are The Eagles.

Now, I will say that I have been dragged to some Country concerts before - those are certainly worth going to, but not for the music.

According to Wikipedia, the world authority on everything CCR is listed in the genres of country rock, blues rock, swamp rock, Southern rock, rock and roll.

But I digress, I'll pass on country.

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gary, I can't let this go CCR is Rock and inducted in to the R&R HoF.

Country music - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They do have a country rock sound, but that entire subgenre is a backlash to the re-hashing of America's true Blues Rock by the British. Thus forming the British Invasion. The British invasion taught americans the great sounds of traditional african american blues artists-who at that time were generally discriminated against. Some Americans appealed to a back to basics or traditional, as mentioned in the article, rock and I feel that is what formed "Country Rock" and may have a subtle racial subtext wether in sound or to which kind of people that the sounds was marketed to.

This is country music:

I too have a wide ranging taste in music, and I have to say Classical, Opera, and Country (old) are high on my list!
