Vinyl: Putting the cart before the horse...
I just bought 129 used LPs from a relative who lives in DC sight unseen. He had a collection of 500 Lps he asked me to advise him on how to sell and as a result i got first dibs and i just picked the stuff that interested me. He had some friends who were driving to Boston this weekend and they just dropped off the two boxes. He's not an audiophile and these are all from the 60s/70s and early 80s and I am sure have not been treated very well but what the heck. I was generous and paid him $4 a pop and I am hoping for a 35%/40% hit rate in terms of listenable LPs from the bunch. Who knows? We'll see.
I say we'll see because those of you who have noticed in my signature line there is no mention of any vinyl playback equipment . And that is because there is none . I am still a few months away from finalizing my vinyl rig. I guess I "dun" lost it :screwy: |

Yes. I am going to buy the entry-level VPI 16.5 . I hear it's very quiet I am looking forward to it. This ought to be fun.

Hey Dave...on the VPI 16.5, I heard it in motion at my dealer, that sucker is loud. But it will have to do for my first RCM. Thx for the encouragement on the vinyl front.
