Ok, today I pushed it harder, the watt meter went just pass the 75 mark. That's why I didn't feel
There is any difference in term of power between both amps. Also, I am listening to ARC Ref 40 driving Momentum, I have to say with all the cables on hand, I like sound of Tube preamp more. With a richer sounding digital source such as Ayon CD player. I am sure Momentum pre will be just as good. Toga |

Interesting to read this...I auditioned both Momentum pre and ARC Ref 10 and ended up with the tube preamp

It's all up to individual preferences. A friend recently swapped out his REF 40 for the Dag Pre to match up with his Momentum amps. He started out all REF and is now all D'Agostino. It is all what you are looking for.

I will do Momentum pre into Mephisto power amp soon.
For now, I can say that there is a certain magic from Momentum amp. That I Will have to summarize and write later. I think it make system just disappeared, Speakers gone. Regarding power, I didn't think they are As explosive as my previous Moon W7M and Gryphon Mephisto. Oh I noticed both amp and pre amp ' s feet are some kind of rubber. For the price of amp stand from D'Agostino. Something like CMS, HRS, May be more effective and more cost effective. D'Agostino amp stand is just An aluminum plate with spikes in a flashy design. |

Very much interested in your further considerations TOGA, for my part I have pretty much had a gut full of ARC ATM, and have been giving some serious consideration to an Dag Momentum Stereo as replacement for the Ref 150.

I just changed my mind.
Let me share the thought here. Only a very lucky few will be able to afford an highly crafted and exquisitely built D'Agsotino gears. Their performance is of course at the top of high end products. They are so transparent and let listening room melted away. the players just float in the air. The ambiance from recording venue is so realistic, coming from around me. I just wish they set the price for this Momentum more reachable to wider group of audiophiles. May be 15,000$ for pre amp and 28,000$ for a pair of monoblock is more reachable. But that is just my personal dream. Oh At least, Constellation make a wallet friendly models, and soon following by D'Agostino too. Let's wait and see ( see what's left inside). Toga Jim, you are a lucky few guys I mentioned above |

I totally agree. The only amps that make me want to change my ARC tubes is the D'Agostino gear. I make a good living, but unfortunately that's not enough to afford these babies. Sigh...at least it keeps me motivated. I will have stuff like that someday. But I think I might want another muscle car just as much. Hmmm.
