As far as gain is concerned this unit has plenty.

I have it on lowest gain with my Lyra Kleos and Medium with my Koetsu Black Goldline.

Highest gain 62db (it may be 64db) going by memory here, may be good enough for some of the super low output ZYX or similar.

If the output is .4mv your lowest MC gain setup should suffice.

Also using the Koetsu Black Goldline. I have found that on some recordings the 58db gain is just right and others I’m using the 64db. I got spoiled with my Rhea being able to change on the fly. I really missed that with my Octave and AR. Been having fun going thru all different types of music and playing with the settings. Just love new toys.

How big is the difference between the McIntosh C52 phono stage and MP1100? How well the difference corresponds to the price?

Great point. Recordings vary and having the ability to adjust on the fly is priceless.

That little remote is a treat.

Features abound and most at the tip of your finger.

How well the price meets the difference (C52 phono stage vs MP1100)?

Did anyone compare MP1100 with the built in phonostage in C500? Buying a used C500 sure saves a lot of money....

The MP100 is the standalone version of the phono stage in the C52.
I would imagine that the MP1100 is a pretty substantial step up.

Anton - the phono stage in the C500 is outstanding. I’m sure the MP 1100 is awesome as well.....hard call!
