The Aries has the same digital output options as your Esoteric has input options so you would just hook it up the same as you are now unless you want to try all three options and decide on one. If you want a unit with a built in DAC then you are looking at either Lumin or a couple of Aurender's unless you want a separate streamer and DAC. The Aurender would have an AKM chipset just like your Esoteric. An all-in-one like the Lumin T2 is also a good option.

So, itching for an upgrade ... yet, you have great gear and don’t cite any areas at which you’d like to improve upon - other than a possible tt upgrade.
What specifically do you want to improve? |

Jd, I see no mention of your listening environment in your signature so my guess is you allocate some funds to improve it

That’s already on the list. Working w the folks from GIK. Just trying to pick a picture for the art panel. I wanted the Maxell Blow Away but can’t get a high-Rez copy. I might have to buy the poster and take a pic of it.

I actually was looking for some suggestions because I wasn’t sure what else I could do. Kept tossing around the TT upgrade and I really hadn’t considered moving to a music server. I had read people having good success w Mac mini’s. The more people suggested, I researched and I thought about it, the more this made sense. It improves my workflow, which should help with me using the digitally recorded albums more frequently. It should improve the sound over the Mac/Esoteric solution I’m running. I found an A-10 for a great deal to try out. I’m sure it will help, now just have to assess the sound.
