I had planned to originally, with the 88 taking over for the 09 and the 09 taking over for my Oppo 83 as a quickie viewing option, i.e. when I didn't feel like turning on the whole system; the Oppo connects to the TV directly, the 09's audio goes through my system.

It was easiest to stack the two Pioneer players, but I didn't like that both players responded to the same remote, regardless of whether it was the 09's or the 88's. I might try reconfiguring my setup with the Pioneers on opposite sides, perhaps that would work. The only way to test that is to do it and see what happens.

Yeah that would be interesting... I still spin CDs in my PD-T07 and the UDP-205 does all hi-Rez formats and Blu-ray. The Pioneer has bested all other spinners in my space and is fully balanced. Interestingly enough, it could be the DV-09’s twin in appearance.

Well, I heard from the repair shop Wednesday. The 88 is ready. I'll begin working on re-configurations that would work to accommodate both it and the 09, hoping they both don't work off the single remote again. If that happens, I'll disengage the 88 and consider keeping it as a back-up or selling/giving it away and going for the LX-500, Pioneer Elite's latest player.

I'm hoping to pick up the 88 next week.
