Hey Tim, in fact I did like them A LOT.... Thing is I came across an opportunity to buy a pair of Usher be-10, and that is very very difficult in my country (Costa Rica), so I decided to make the move.... I still have my sl3 and cls2... And my idea is to get new panels for the cls2 (someday), so I can enjoy a full range electrostatic and also a box speaker as with the Ushers.... Saludos!

Recently picked up a pair of Ethos after demoing many types/makes of speakers. Absolutely stunning performance (for me) verses other types of speakers. I have found that my collection of music has a renewed life with all of the delicate detail that is now available through the Ethos'. Most apparent to me is the need for quality components as the Ethos will reveal any shortcomings in the signal chain and that a fair amount of the music I have enjoyed, if poorly produced, sounds even worse. However, well executed albums sound that much better.
I currently couldn't be happier with my pair of Ethos.

I have been auditioning a pair of Ethos myself at the local dealer. I know what you are saying about them being revealing of poor recordings, and that does concern me a bit. Unfortunately much of the word's greatest music hasn't been recorded to audiophile standards. Anyone else experience this with Martin Logans? I use tubes and mainly listen to vinyl,, which is somewhat forgiving of course and that would help. What is the rest of your system Skipper2101?

Not as familiar with the Ethos as I have a pair of Vistas. Running them with the Krell Vanguard , Reg RP1 and Marantz SA8005 as transport and DAC. Also using a IMac as server and streamer using Tidal. They have a pure clear sound that is rich and detailed. No they do not make substandard recording sound good but well recorded material sounds incredible.

Gotta agree I head the smaller Krell intergrated 300i on the Vistas and loved it

Default Since I own a pair...

Since I own a pair, and since this thread seems to still be active, I've had my Ethos speakers for 3 years. They're in an approximately 40' x 40' living room area.

I have an elaborate home automation & AV system with lots of components that inevitably exhibit occasional problems (like one VisionArt motor that recently destroyed several thousand dollars of rollup artwork covering a 60" TV). And the Ethos speakers... just work. My home is humidity controlled, but I never worry about the speakers. They're consistent.

I'm a musician, but admit these speakers (unlike my B&W's, etc.) were purchased for aesthetic reasons as well as their sound. They're amazing on vocals, and do well in general with classical, jazz & rock. However, though the 8" woofers sound *very good* with rock music, and rarely fatigue my ears, if you have an excellent recording that emphasizes bass & drum parts (e.g. Rush), you might find yourself wishing for a larger bass sound. Regardless, everyone who has heard them seems to love them, and as a side-effect, they do seem to jumpstart conversations when we entertain guests who have no concept of electrostatic speakers (which seems to be almost everyone).

Finally, though this may sound ridiculous in an audio forum, they're more difficult to knock over than many floor standing speakers... which may seem a trivial concern until the wrong child or adult gets near them in a non-dedicated listening area. I don't worry about the B&W 803's in my home office. But I'd be afraid to put the B&W's where the Ethos speakers currently sit...
