Default Standard issue of TONEAudio #37 ready for download

The free version of TONEAudio #37 is ready to download here:

http://www.tonepublications.com/MAGPDF/TA_037.pdf

Quite a bit of music, as usual, along with live coverage of the Roadburn festival from the Netherlands. Paul Rigby from Record Collector magazine has joined the staff and will be helping out to increase our coverage of audiophile pressings.

And in the gear section, we've got reviews of the MartinLogan ElectroMotion speakers, The Running Springs Elgar power conditioner, The ARC PH 6 phono preamp and much more...

Steve Guttenberg gives us a tour of the Red Wine Audio factory, and Ken Kessler rounds out the Style section with a bit of wine tasting.

Enjoy!

I forgot to mention, for those attending THE Show in Newport Beach next week that are from out of town, we've done a pre show article on some great places to eat and drink while you are there....

I made sure to visit each one personally!

Great Job Jeff, as always !
Amazed at the SRA review. My "religion" forbids me to spend such amounts of money on platforms, but still, I'm curious....

Jeff,
I have no doubt that they work well.
I'm questionning the cost effectiveness of such an item.
At what level of amplifier price, spending 3k on a single shelf can be relevant ?
I would guess that 10% is a good ratio.
So each amp should cost around 30k : that takes you close to the Burmester monoblocks right ? And at this price point, it makes sense. If you spent 30k for each monoblock, spending an other 3k for a platform is no big deal.
But probably not with much cheaper amps.

He's actually got some platforms that are quite a bit less expensive... These are their top product..As I mentioned in the review, any of the esoteric vibration control products are the last step in system setup IMO...

I do believe vibration control is very important. Sound is a form of vibration. Like Ivan said, a system is only as good as its weakest link. If everything else in your system is top notch, vibration control can help you squeeze out that extra couple more percent in this crazy hobby.

Totally agree with you and Ivan

Also, if you have everything else addressed, it will be easier to hear what the vibration stuff is addressing...
