No problem discussing Harbeth and Falcon on this thread
Can't go wrong with Dynaudio, they build great speakers. I enjoyed my time with a pair of Dynaudio 72SE and BAT then McIntosh gear.

Sticking with the Harbeth line of inquiry, how about SuperHL5 Plusses? These are just within your $7k budget.

Seen those Bob. Look like wonderful speakers, but those are definitely too big for this small room.

Just food for thought... I'm not sure your B&Ws aren't already at or even above the level of the rest of your gear. All B&W 800 series are serious speakers. Something to think about.

With that said, +1 on the Focal Utopia.

In small rooms speaker placement becomes much more important than it already is in large rooms. With the speakers only 1 foot from the front wall, you will want to consider how the speaker is tuned. For example the Wilson Duette is meant to be operated close to a room boundary. The Totem One is as well, but you've been there and done that. Because of this, I would audition speakers in your space as each one will behave very differently close to a boundary than out in the room. My only concern wrt the dynaudio would be its 85 dB efficiency, which is fairly low.

Tom

Very true Tom. I've been trying to find information about speakers that "don't mind" being placed fairly close to a back wall, but the manufacturer sites are not too forth-coming.

The MC75's are having absolutely no problem with the existing 805S with sensitivity of 88db. Using the turntable, with the volume level at 40 on the C500T, the volume is really loud in that room. At 50 things start to shake and the wife starts shouting loudly at me (if home). Not that I can hear the shouting, but I do get "shouting texts" on my phone . I appreciate 85db sensitivity is quite a bit lower.

The Totems were easier to place, but I much prefer the sound of the B&W's.

Take a look at Salk Signature. Most of them are front ported and you can speak with Jim Salk directly, he is very approachable and helpful. Just a suggestion. http://www.salksound.com/model.php?m...otica+Monitors

I agree, it's tough to wade through manufacturer literature to find out if speakers will work well close to a boundary. Apart from Wilson I haven't seen many. The 3 dB difference is double the power but in a small room you should be in good shape. The MC 75's are fine amplifiers indeed. Enjoy!

If you need to go small then Joseph Audio Pulsars are the ticket. If you can go bigger there are many other choices!
