PPP vs Shunyata Hydra

I am currently using a Power Plant Premier and have been happy (my integrated is a 75 watt, so not a huge load). However, my dealer (who does not stock PS Audio) has been talking my ear off about the virtues of the Shunyata Hydra Talos/Triton/Typhon (or even Hydra-alpha) and how much
better it is than what I have. I know a sales pitch when I hear one. But is there anybody out there without a horse in the race (and not a die hard fan) who has heard both and can give an opinion on the differences?

arises.......I would suggest you ask your dealer for one of the Shunyata power conditioners to test in your system against the Power Plant Premier. That should be simple enough for him to do. You can make up your own mind based on what you hear from your system and not what you hear from the dealer's mouth.

I'd definitely go for the Shunyata Procucts--far more refined and do not squash dynamics like the PS equivalents

Des.......Your comment about the PS Audio Power Plant Premier begs the question, have you owned one? What makes you think the PPP squashes dynamics?

I believe Dan's suggestion is the safest way to go. If your dealer is sweetening up your ear about the Shunyata then I believe it's a safe assumption that he wouldn't have a problem letting you have an in-home audition. Plus that way you can post pictures for us

I installed a Hydra Triton yesterday and it replaced a PPP. While its got some time to burn in yet, there is an increase in dynamics right from the start. I think the PPP is a great product, but the Triton so far is living up to all the reviews.

Any updates, guys? I am delighted with my PPPs but have been intrigued with the Shunyata products. I suppose I too could ask for a demonstration but for me, due to my geographics, that typically means I have to buy one first.

Yes, I realize there is a return policy on the Shunyata products from most dealers. But I'm in the information gathering stage, kind of armchair quarterbacking for now. So I wonder, any updates?
