Thanks Mike. It took a lot of effort. Trading up etc. But I'm finally satisfied with the cost-benefit result. Up until now, the best I've heard was some ARC equiptment with Nola Baby Grands here at Lyric in NYC. I truly feel my system sounds much better than that at this point. Tommy, thanks for remembering about the 500T light issue. I was told the 500T uses different lighting. In other words, when McIntosh upgrades the lights on a new model such as the MC601's it doesn't carry across the entire line. I was told the dealer will look at it when the 601's are delivered. I do believe the 500 lights are adjustable. Maybe we can brighten them up a bit. The dealer will also install the Gold Lions in the 500T that I've heard so much about. If it is even a minor upgrade, I'll be in heaven. I'm so satisfied, I listened to the system for 8 hours Sunday. Much to my neighbors dismay!

I bought the C500C/T and I am very satisfied with the matching of MC2301.
Fortunately the meter display is the same color/intensity than the MC2301. At this point you must take the MC2301. The Gold Lion ECC83 are a big improvement for the C500T. I ask you how and what the MC601 they are better than of MC501. The MC2301 are a different planet than the MC501! Last edited by m.tonetti; 04-06-2011 at 05:22 AM. |

Massimo, Please tone that MC2301 stuff down. My checkbook is still recovering from the last 12 months of McIntosh madness! I feel the 601's are fulller and wider than what I remember the 501's to be. I had the same experience from the 402 to the 452.
