Is there anyone reading this thread who has a GS150? I want to ask a question via PM
so as not to bother all readers. Thanks |

Howdy. I am one of those crazy folks who like to race through the first couple hundred hours of burn in time (Audio Research says 600 hours but I have found that the first 300 hours gets you most of the way there). So I am at 50 hours on my GS150. I am interested in your opinion or experience whether volume level matters for burn in? It would be hard to move my speakers but easy to run at minimal volume without disturbing the household. Thoughts?

Hi, do you guys-owner of GS150, notice any loud humming coming out of the amps while it's still cold? Maybe 5 minutes after start up?
My Gs150 humms quite annoyingly and I can hear it from my listening position. Dealer blamed it on the input power fluctuation, which varies around 5% Please give me input on this |

My ARC experience is that amps hum to varying degrees, the more powerful, the more they do. My GS150 has some modest hum, but not loud enough to hear from the listening position which makes it insignificant. You only notice it when you stand within a few feet of the unit. I heard the same from two other GS150 in the field so that is apparently normal. Hearing it from the listening seat seems like a different scale and scope.
