My Sashas sound terrific with c-j's LP140 monos. Their tube amps are as good as it gets. Someone reported in another string here that Wilson was using a stereo ART in a sound room to demo Alexias at the factory. Would the Sashas sound better with the c-j 275 watt ART monos? Yes, they are a somewhat better amps with lots more headroom, any good speaker would. Do they need the extra power? Not really. They also sound magnificent with the c-j P350 solid state amp... faster with somewhat better low bass but without the three dimensional magic of a good tube amp. I don't notice a headroom difference but guess that depends on the music and the volume you like to listen to.

Enjoy the music... it's all good.

Do you use certain specific music when placing the wilsons? I would like to improve the positioning of my little sophia's but dont know if i am chasing my tail at this point. Was considering having an authorized dealer hired to help but wonder if what sounds best for him would also sound best to me.
My room is 22x26x9. Current placement is along the 22' front wall about 3' out...about 10' between the speakers. The Alexia's will go in same spot. My dealer set up and we leave on casters for about 3 months prior to final spiking. A good dealer can be valuable....but no harm in you being part of the process

Looking for some opinions before getting involved w/ the local Wilson dealer. Been thinking about changing out my Magnepan 3.7s for the Sashas. The 3.7's just haven't done anything for me beyond what my 3.6s offered and now I have the itch to try something different. My system is listed w/ the posting. Don't really care to change my ARC gear which has served me well, but I'm interested in all opinons. Thanks.

Heard the sasha last weekend powered with Audio Research cd9, ref10 pre, ref150 power. Amazing sounds. Huuuge soundstage, musical, toe-tapping. Just perfect really.

The ARC REF75 was designed using the Sasha's
That pretty much answers the tube question, doesn't it?

Might be tough to upgrade the electronics until you know what speakers you are voicing. I previously used a VAC Phi 300.1 with my Sashas to good effect. In my room, they demanded a second VAC to perform complex pieces well. Although I don't have the VAC any longer, I will agree that Kevin Hayes' team puts out many fine products. Not sure I would classify them as the best amps for Wilson, but they certainly aren't shabby. Worth demoing.

I use Doshi JHors to drive my Sashas. They are 90 watt tube amps that were designed using Sasha's.

I have heard many amps with the Sashas and nothing has come close.

I had the good fortune to hear the CAT JL5 with Sashas and prefer it to the Jhors in that application. YMMV.
