Oregon Ducks
Congratulations to the Fighting Ducks of Oregon, winners of the Rose Bowl.
They are where they deserve to be, playing for the national championship. Go Ducks!

They certainly took advantage of FSU's bobbles.
They will have their hands full with the Buckeyes and their running back, Elliot, who rushed 20 times for 230 yards against Alabama. Go Ducks!!!

I'm predicting an Oregon blowout.

Quote:
This reads as if Oregon was gifted the turnovers. Probably not what you meant, but I'm thinking that Oregon's defense finally is at a level that they are causing said bobbles. Or, in one case, simply taking the ball out of the grasp of a good running back; in another, bringing so much pressure to bear on a befuddled QB that in his desperate scramble he falls backwards and oddly gives up the ball for six. No, I think Oregon needs now to be considered a team that can run with anyone (literally), and, not to take away the obvious accomplishments of other programs and conferences, Oregon and the PAC-12 will be in the mix at the highest level of competition, and cannot be dismissed as lucky or a one-off (Mariota), as so many have tried to do. No, I think Oregon has proven over the past five years that this is a legitimate program, and a team that all others will hate to face. Enough said. I'm just proud.

The Ducks look for real to me. I think their defensive pressure did create turnovers and they certainly took advantage of them.

Oh, I certainly didn't mean the Ducks were handed the ball. They took charge and overwhelmed FSU, earning every turnover they created. 27 unanswered points were the clear evidence of that.
What I meant, and I agree I didn't clearly state it, was that Oregon took advantage by scoring every time they created a turnover. Too many teams are not able to take such an advantage and end up not scoring, rendering the opposing team's "bobble" an insignificant event. I don't think I was sufficiently awake and fortified with caffeine when I wrote that.

Very happy for the Ducks and the way they played, John, even though I'm a Beaver! Hope they win the National Championship and bring that back to the state of Oregon to go along with Mariota as the Heisman winner.
Also very proud of my Boise State Broncos for winning their 3rd Fiesta Bowl in the past eight years!

It should be an interesting game! Sorry but I just can't get behind OSU and their Coach.
Good Luck to all, and may good sportsmanship prevail. Happy New Year, Jim

Oregon is a very fine team, for whom I cheered in their game against FSU. But they do not have a monopoly on fine play.
