True; she'd get one of the C2s anyway.

The C1, C2, and S5.4 all crossover to the Esotar2 at 2200, 1800 and 2000 Hz respectively. The S3.4 crossover is 2000 Hz, so it seems like a good compatibility matrix to me.
I hear ya Dean. If I were really going to dig my heels in, I might make the argument that...the 3.4 most closely resembles the C2; (2) mid-bass drivers, and no mid-range like the 5.4. So 1800 might make more sense...or split the difference (because of (2) Esotar2s on C2s, versus (1) for your 3.4s) and 1900 might be spot-on. But I get your point; 1800, 1900, 2000, 2200...they're all in the same ballpark, and it'll probably sound plenty great.

Just out of curiosity, it would be fun to know how the crossover is set? If it were a simple, dip-switch setting...that would be tweak-able, easily enough. So...what's your timetable for this conversion? I'll be plenty anxious to hear the results.

I'm gonna do it at some point; the S3.4s are perfectly in balance with my space, and Esotar2 would give me Confidence level performance w/o destroying that balance. Much as I would love to have C2s, I think they would overpower my small listening space.

I do not know whether the crossover can be tweaked, but Mick indicated they are already a match and no crossover change is necessary. I also talked to another Dyn rep about it and he had the same thing to say.

If Mick says it's okay, it's good enough for me. I think his recommendation was to purchase the single drivers from the mobile audio line and switch the mounting (face) plates.

Right, this is exactly what Mick had to say over on AVS...

You remove the plates from the 3.4's and swap them to the E110's so they fit perfectly into the 3.4's, crossover change is not necessary as the frequency range covered is the same. The tweeters sell for $850 each but it is a worthwhile upgrade to the 3.4's.

Yes, I was going to post that Mick recommends using the Esotar2 from the Mobile Audio line, the E110.

Why not use a furniture felt pad between the C1 and Stand4? When I had my Dyn 52SE I use Bluetack between the speaker and Stand4. Although not coupled it kept the speaker in place.
